Code of Conduct & Professional Ethics

For Students

Admission on Merit
Admission will be given strictly on merit basis.
Uniform & Identity Card
No student will remain present without college uniform and Identity Card in the campus. The Identity Card must be produced for inspection whenever demanded by the authorities.
Campus Cleanliness
All should be punctual about cleanliness of the college campus. Throwing waste papers or defacing walls are punishable offences. Use the baskets and bins specially provided.
No Harassment
Abuse or harassment — physical, verbal, or by any other means — is strictly prohibited. This includes harassment on the basis of sex, gender, caste, religion, race, ethnicity, colour, national origin, handicap, age, sexual orientation, and political or religious beliefs.
Attendance
75% attendance is compulsory. In case of attendance below 75%, parents will be conveyed and preventive measures will be taken. No student of one class shall enter any other class under any pretext.
Disciplinary Code
Unlawful possession, use or distribution of alcohol in the College premises is prohibited; including possession or use of any narcotic substance. Students found using drugs or liquor will be dismissed. Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the campus.
No Defacement
Students are forbidden from sticking bills, writing, drawing, and painting on boards, walls, desks or anywhere in the campus.
Respectful Behaviour
Students found guilty of using foul language or behaving rudely towards staff members or administrative or non-teaching staff will be expelled from the college.
Cell Phone Policy
Use of cell phones inside classrooms is not permitted. Lengthy and unnecessary conversation anywhere in the campus is disallowed.
Notice Board
Students are advised to read notices regularly put on the notice board and not ignore the instructions. They should also convey the notifications to their parents/guardians.
Silence on Campus
Absolute silence should be maintained during teaching hours in the classroom and while moving from classroom to laboratory/library/auditorium. No student should leave the classroom during lecture without permission of the lecturer.
Examination Integrity
Any malpractice in examination is prohibited under University Act and norms laid down by the College from time to time.
Misuse of Resources
In case of damage or destruction of College property, the concerned student shall replace the same at his/her own cost.
Anti-Ragging
Ragging is strictly prohibited inside the college campus as per the Maharashtra Prohibition of Ragging Act, 1999, UGC notification and direction of the Supreme Court of India. Students involved in ragging will be dismissed. The college has formed an Anti-Ragging Committee as per UGC Regulations.

For Teachers & Administrative Staff

The Code of Professional Ethics

Any person who takes teaching as a profession assumes the obligation to conduct himself/herself in accordance with the ideals of the profession. The teacher is constantly under the scrutiny of his/her students and the society at large. Therefore, every teacher shall see that there is no incompatibility between his/her precepts and practice.

The national ideals of education which have already been set forth and which he/she should seek to inculcate among students must be his/her own ideals, duly reflecting in his conduct. The profession requires that the teacher shall be calm, patient and communicative by temperament and amiable in disposition.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Central control on prime activities in the institution such as Academic, Financial and Administrative.
2. To follow rules, regulations and duties governed by the Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded and University Grant Commission, New Delhi.
3. To organize and attend meetings with Management council and implementation of decisions taken. To submit report of action taken with respect to minutes of the meetings.
4. Keenly involve in the academic and financial requirements of the institution for approval of the governing body and the management.
5. To check the proposal prepared for different grants for the staff, continuation of approval, variation of intake or addition of new courses.
6. To get affiliation for all existing courses from the affiliating body by submitting the proposal in time.
7. To arrange governing body meetings of the institute by performing all formalities such as preparation of agenda, minutes of meetings and implementation of all decisions.
8. For peaceful conduct, initiate disciplinary action against the staff and faculty as and when required.
9. Follow up of all proposals pending with various departments, government offices, University.
10. To submit proposals to the management about the requirement with respect to faculty, non-teaching staff, equipment, furniture, store, material etc.
11. To prepare institute for applying for accreditation.
12. To take suitable policy decisions with respect to improvement of performance of students.
13. To make suitable policy regarding training and placement of students.
14. To identify HOD and faculty for deputation for higher studies, trainings, workshops, conferences and seminars.
15. To sanction various types of Leaves as per the policy of Government and DES, Latur.
16. To maintain discipline, making various committees and follow ups of anti-ragging committee, women's grievances cell, safety and security of students.
17. To arrange different programs in the institution to increase public relations and interaction with community.
18. To be responsible for all the legal issues arising out of management of the institute.

A Teacher Should

Adhere to a responsible pattern of conduct and demeanor expected of him/her by peers and the community.
Manage his/her private affairs in a manner consistent with the dignity of the profession.
Seek to make professional growth continuous through study and research writing and decent conduct.
Express free and frank opinion by active participation at professional meetings, seminars and conferences.
Maintain active membership of professional organizations and strive to improve education and the profession.
Perform his/her duties in the form of teaching, tutorial, practical and seminar work conscientiously and with dedication.
Co-operate and assist in carrying out functions relating to educational responsibilities of the University such as admission, advising, counseling students and assisting in examinations.
Participate in extension, co-curricular and extracurricular activities including community service.

Teachers & Students

Respect the right and dignity of the student in expressing his/her opinion.
Deal justly and impartially with students regardless of their religion, caste, sex, political, economic, social and physical status.
Recognize the difference in aptitude and capabilities among students and strive to meet their individual needs.
Encourage students to improve their attainments, develop their personalities and contribute to community welfare.
Inculcate among students scientific, progressive and rational outlook and respect for physical labor and ideals of democracy, patriotism and peace.
Be affectionate to students and not behave in a vindictive manner towards any of them for any reason.
Pay attention to only the attainment of the student in the assessment of merit.
Make himself available to students even beyond their class hours and help and guide them without any remuneration or reward.
Aid students to develop an understanding of our national heritage and national goals.
Refrain from inciting students against other students, colleagues or administration.

Teachers & Colleagues

Treat other members of the profession in the same manner as they themselves wish to be treated.
Speak respectfully of other teachers and render assistance for professional betterment.
Refrain from lodging unsubstantiated allegations against colleagues to higher authorities.
Refrain from exploiting considerations of caste, creed, religion, race or gender in their professional endeavour.
Be thoroughly social and humane, democratic and rational, towards other teachers.
Strive at any cost to remove and wash out the local tensions and controversies and disputes.
Believe in union and unity of the colleagues.

Teachers & Authorities

Discharge their professional responsibilities according to the existing rules and adhere to procedure and methods consistent with their profession.
Not undertake any other employment and commitment including private tuitions and coaching classes.
Co-operate in the formulation of policies of the institution by accepting various offices and discharge responsibilities which such offices may demand.
Co-operate with the authorities for the betterment of the institutions keeping in view the interest and in conformity with dignity of the profession.
Should adhere to the conditions of contract.
Give and expect due notice before a change of position is made.
Refrain from availing themselves of leave except on unavoidable grounds and as far as practicable with prior intimation, keeping in view their particular responsibility for completion of academic schedule.

Teachers & Society

Recognize that education is a public service and strive to keep the public informed of the educational programmes being provided.
Work to improve education in the community and strengthen the community's moral and intellectual life.
Be aware of social and economical problems and take part in activities conducive to the progress of society and the country as a whole.
Perform the duties of citizenship, participate in community activities and shoulder responsibilities of public office.
Refrain from taking part in activities which tend to promote feeling of hatred or enmity among different communities, relations or linguistic groups but actively work for National Integration.

For College Principal

1. Academic growth of the College.
2. Participation in the teaching, research and training programmes of the College.
3. Assisting in planning and implementation of academic programmes such as Refresher / Orientation course, seminars, in-service and other training programmes organized by the University / College.
4. Admission of students and maintenance of discipline of the College.
5. Receipts, expenditure and maintenance of true and correct accounts.
6. The overall administration of the College and Recognized Institution and their Libraries and Hostels, if any.
7. Correspondence relating to the administration of the College.
8. Administration and supervision of curricular, co-curricular / extracurricular or extra-mural, students' welfare activities of the College.
9. Observance of the Act, Statutes, Ordinance, Regulations, Rules and other Orders issued by the University authorities and bodies.
10. Supervision of examinations, setting of question papers, moderation and assessment of answer papers.
11. Overall supervision of the University Examinations.
12. Observance or provisions of Accounts Code.
13. Maintenance of Assessment Reports of teachers and administrative staff and their Service Books.
14. Any other work relating to the College or Recognized Institution as may be assigned by the Management.
15. Preparation of institutional development plan for every five years with action plan of implementation.
16. Identification of avenues for resource generation.
17. Preparation for assessment, accreditation and academic audit of the college/institution.
18. Teacher welfare programmes for teachers including promotions to administrative staff and Career Advancement Scheme on time.
19. Working as mentor for teachers and administrative staff of the college.
20. Maintenance and updating college/institutional website giving all mandatory disclosures and adopt ICT in governance.
21. Practice inclusive leadership by involving all teachers in various committees for smooth conduct of the college.
22. Connecting college/institution with societal needs.

Vice Principal

1. To prepare the departmental academic calendar and time table with the concerning of all departmental HOD's and monitor the same.
2. Monitoring of academic work of Science Faculty.
3. Management of Guest visitors of college.
4. Controlling of all the issues related to Examinations (S.R.T.M. University Nanded and College).
5. Attestation of Documents.
6. To work as the in-charge Principal to the institution in the absence of the Principal.
7. To carry out the work / tasks related to administration of the institute assigned by the principal from time to time.
8. Monitoring academic work of all departments.
9. Sanction casual leave of the faculty.
10. To solve problems of HOD's, Faculties, non-teaching staff and students.
11. To organize non-academic programs.
12. To monitor daily and monthly attendance of students.
13. To check and verify daily teaching diary of teachers once in a month.
14. To organize annual social gathering and prize distribution function in consultation with the principal.

Head of the Department

1. To prepare the departmental academic calendar, time table, individual time table and monitor the same.
2. To teach at least two papers as per departmental workload and provide academic leadership to the faculty of the department.
3. To monitor attendance and academic progress of students.
4. To organize meeting of the departmental teaching and non-teaching staff every month and take the follow up of implementation.
5. To ensure maintenance of laboratory, departmental library and promote innovative practices.
6. To plan and implement academic programmes such as seminars, workshop, conferences, faculty development programmes etc.
7. To maintain discipline among the members and staff.
8. To participate and organize curricular, co-curricular, extracurricular activities and maintain records.
9. To carry out work such as setting question paper, assessment of answer sheets and moderation.
10. To handle department in all respects to increase reputation of department in the institute.

Assistant Professor

1. To teach with total devotion in the classroom.
2. To maintain students attendance keenly.
3. To make plan of teaching theory and practical papers and check implementation of it.
4. To make strategies for assessment and evaluation of students.
5. To make healthy relations with students so students can solve doubts without fear.
6. To make resource material for teaching and learning, curricular, co-curricular, extra-curricular activities.
7. To prepare and share e-learning study material for students for easy grasping.
8. To publish at least one research paper in an academic year.
9. To follow rules and regulations of the department.
10. To strictly conduct all the duties related to examination.
11. Follow duties assigned by Principal and Head of the department.

Director of Physical Education & Sports

1. Cultivate excellence in various domains of sports and also promote a spirit of healthy competition.
2. Promote sports, culture and organize activities in the field of sports in college / institution.
3. Co-ordinate and organize activities related to various sports jointly with regional and national bodies.
4. Organize university level competitions, sports skill development camps in various sports in the college campus.
5. Train students for regional, national and international competitions in various sports.
6. To prepare the report of the Board of Physical Education to be submitted before the Principal / Director / Management.
7. Undertake any other task that may be assigned by the college / institute authorities, so as to carry out objectives of Physical Education.
8. Exercise such other powers and perform such other duties as prescribed by or under the Act or assigned to him by the Principal from time to time.

Librarian

1. To be responsible fully to manage the library effectively, issue library cards and Identity cards to students.
2. To enrich the book-bank facilities for students.
3. To maintain accession register up-to-date.
4. To prepare the annual budget of library.
5. To make list of reference & text books, put in library committee for approval and then place order to the party.
6. To process the books and periodicals as per standard practice and keep the same on the shelf for issue to the members.
7. To circulate catalogues and book reviews for the information of staff and students.
8. To make availability of important newspaper cuttings.
9. The Librarian shall provide a wide range of services to the user, by making available in a convenient and attractive form to students and faculty members a well organized and properly arranged stock of books, journals and other relevant materials.
10. The Librarian shall provide reading and lending facilities and service relating to reference, documentation and bibliography.
11. The Librarian shall always try to bring books, students and scholars together under the conditions which encourage reading for pleasure, self discovery, personal growth and sharpening of intellectual curiosity.
12. And all other duties including reading room in the library.

Non-Teaching Staff

The services of the college Non-teaching staff are governed by the standard code of Maharashtra Civil Services Rules to the extent applicable. Unlike the standard code, for each aspect of service conditions, there are separate detailed rules covering:

1. Any work assigned by the Principal, Heads of the departments should be willingly accepted and should execute effectively.
2. Ensure that college services such as photocopying and postage are used only for administrative purposes.
3. During examination, always follow time schedule and co-operate with all staff for any needy procedure.
4. All should be punctual when coming to and leaving from work.
5. All should respect their colleagues.
6. All should treat the college property with respect and care.
7. All supporting staff should make work rhythm with their routine work.
