Dayanand Science College, Latur is an independent science college under the umbrella of Dayanand Shikshan Sanstha. Dayanand Shikshan Sanstha was established in 1961 with the aim of opening the doors of higher education to the youth of the region. Over the past 65 years the overwhelming response from students across Maharashtra stands as proof that this mission has been fulfilled.
Initially Arts, Commerce and Science streams were housed under one college. As student numbers grew and demand surged, the Science faculty was separated into its own independent college in 1967 — making it the only college of its kind in Maharashtra at that time. From that point the college has been operating under Swami Ramanand Teertha Marathwada University, Nanded, and is affiliated to the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
Today the college has attained high academic standards. The contribution of the management, chairman, secretary, joint secretary, board members, experienced and devoted teaching and non-teaching staff, industrious and talented students, forward-looking parents and well-wishers has been immense. Strict discipline, rigorous study, effective teaching, brilliant results and a student-centred focus have earned this college a reputation as a premier institution in Maharashtra.
In the years 1987–88, 1988–89 and 1989–90 the college students topped the Maharashtra State HSC (12th Standard) examination three consecutive times, becoming the first college in Maharashtra to achieve this feat. Since then, the college has consistently ranked among the top institutions in the state. In the MHT-CET examination, more than 200 from this college secure a place in the state merit list - a distinction earned not just in Marathwada but recognised across all of Maharashtra.

During this period Dayanand Science college under the umbrella of Dayanand Education Society became a premier institute in the Maharashtra state for science teaching and research. We have built and endured a legacy not only on the magnitude of our experience in education but also because we continuously embrace innovation and exploration. We believe deeply that quality education is a necessary precondition for better world, and pledge with efforts to ensure that our college meet all the students in well equipped, well-resourced and well-staffed campuses that are essential in quality of the education to provide them. We take pride in our commitment to offer programmes that draw on research and best practices as well as acting with the wealth knowledge and experience of our component faculty. Together, we aim to create a relevant, engaging and challenging educational experience for all the students.
Our entire staff is committed to establishing a college environment that allows students to flourish and grow on all levels, meanwhile enjoying their learning experience. We work together to inspire the young students to build up their career and transform themselves into decent human beings. The college is not just focusing on imparting academic knowledge to the wards, but it is also bent on imbibing life skills, soft skills, add on courses skills, and communicative skills to help them in honing up their personality in this communicative world. For the overall development in college infrastructural, Laboratory equipments, Sport equipments, facilities, the college regularly applying for UGC, DST, RUSA for getting funding in various schemes. We keep on searching, renewing, expanding and attempting to be ever relevant as per the changing situations of the times. That is why we enjoy a place of eminence among the educational institutions in the state.
Specially, our College is most popular and is a pioneer in the development of "Latur Pattern" in education which has been adopted and implement by many other colleges in the state. There are big tasks coming up in the near future to be accomplished like: Autonomy, NAAC Re-Accreditation IIIrd cycle and proposal for CPE 2nd phase, DBT Star College, NIRF ranking, new skill development courses with the great zeal of the college fraternity and a strong support system of the college management teaching, Non-teaching the college can steer towards the set goals.
We at DSCL strive to respect the unique individuality of each student, give the student the right kind of help. We believe that a student will be successful in life, if we accept him or her as they are and inspire them to become what they want to become.

We give lot of importance to make the discipline a core value, encourage students to develop a sense of responsibility through a well planned NEET, JEE and MHT-CET Academic schedule. It is exclusively designed to crack JEE, NEET, CET Entrance exam and other Competitive exam.
