College Milestones

Dayanand Science Junior College, a proud constituent of Dayanand Science College, Latur, has been one of the pioneering institutions in Marathwada — shaping the renowned Latur Pattern of Education for more than six decades.

1961
Foundation of Dayanand Education Society
Established in May 1961 to provide quality higher education to students from rural and economically weaker sections of Marathwada. The foundation stone was laid by the Governor of Maharashtra, Shri Shriprakash.
1964
Strengthening the Institution
Industrialist and philanthropist Raja Narayanlalji Lahoti joined the Governing Board, providing valuable financial and moral support for institutional development.
1967
Birth of Dayanand Science College
The Science Faculty became an independent institution as Dayanand Science College — laying the foundation for the present Dayanand Science Junior College.
1971
Expansion of Educational Institutions
The Arts and Commerce faculties became independent colleges, while Dayanand College of Law was also established, expanding the Society's educational network.
1980–1999
The Latur Pattern Era
Emerged as a leading contributor to the famous Latur Pattern of Education, producing numerous State Merit Rank holders and outstanding performances in HSC, engineering, and medical entrance examinations.

Shahu–Phule–Ambedkar Award
Received from the Government of Maharashtra for excellence in education.

DST-FIST Recognition & Golden Jubilee
Recognized under the DST-FIST Programme by the Dept. of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Society were held in the presence of the President of India, Dr. Pranab Mukherjee.
